What is a ThermaSAVE Foam Building System?

In today's climate of ever increasing costs of labor, materials and overhead, getting a building constructed within budget constraints that still meet the client's needs becomes increasingly difficult. ThermaSave building panels make it a snap!

thermasave panelsThermaSAVE is the manufacturer of a totally new building system that outperforms nearly every other construction method used today. It consists of laminated building panels called ThermaSAVE panels, manufactured under rigid controls and testing procedures.

A panel consists of an inner and outer skin and a core of super-insulating expanded polystyrene (EPS) glued together with a special high-strength glue and dried under extreme pressure. The result is a stressed-skin panel that has amazing capabilities.

The inner and outer skins can be a variety of materials that can form the inner and outer finish or act as an underlayment for the final surface. The panels have incredible strength, durability and thermal efficiency. With our patented spline connection system, the 4' wide panels join together to build walls, floors and roofs that are lightweight yet can withstand high wind loads and the twisting and flexing that lead to the slow deterioration of conventional buildings.

Superior Performance Building Panels

modular buildingThermaSAVE panels are certified by the International Code Council (ICC). The panels have unimaginable strength. This is due to the stressed skin technology used in our manufacturing process.

Our panels can be used to construct foundation or basement walls, even below grade and with floors spanning up to 16 feet between supports. They can support load-bearing walls up to four stories. Roof panels can span up to 20 feet.

Buildings constructed with ThermaSAVE panels are longer lasting and require less maintenance that conventional buildings.

Desirable properties of cement board skins are:

  • It does not burn and it has a fire rating making the use of sheetrock unnecessary.

  • The panels have met or exceeded fire tests required for the types of buildings and structural components for which they are normally used. In some situations, however, applications of additional fireproofing may be required.

  • It is rot resistant.

  • It is vermin resistant.

  • It is unaffected by water vapor, high moisture content and does not absorb moisture.

  • It does not support Black Mold.

  • All panels are inspected by a third party inspector who meticulously checks the quality of each component at the factory.

The ThermaSAVE panel system makes an excellent choice for residential or commercial indoor or outdoor freezers. Regardless of size, a ThermaSAVE freezer is easier to build and uses much less energy.

Since the foam used in the TermaSAVE panel is not affected by water and has a buoyancy of over 60 pounds per cube foot, it's perfect in use as a dock in fresh or salt water environments.

Cost Comparison

The ThermaSAVE Building System saves money three ways:

  1. Materials – Each project is "tailor made" for its purpose and location. The cost of the system depends on the panel thickness necessary to meet the insulation needs and the structural requirements particular to each project.

  2. Labor Costs – Our work in the plant before the materials arrive at the work site makes it possible to erect the structure with less labor.

  3. Energy Savings – less heat and air conditioning is needed in a ThermaSAVE structure.

Our panels are manufactured with the exterior and interior skins chosen by the customer. The cutting of all roof angles, doors, windows and corners is done in our shop with specialized automated equipment. This decreases the on-site labor costs making our panel construction system competitive with conventional building methods.

Ease of Erection

ThermaSAVE goes together fast and easy. The panels are fastened together with power-driven screws through the inner and outer skins into either cement board or wood splines. Usually, because of the strength of the panels no headers are needed over doors and windows. The panels are light weight, so the erection of a structure can be achieved with minimal equipment and just two men.

Finishes

Cellulose reinforced cement board is the most cost efficient finish. When used as the inside and outside skins, maximum durability at the lowest cost is achieved.

  1. The interior can be taped and finished. The fire rating removes the necessity of using sheetrock for the interior walls.

  2. The exterior can be painted, coated with vinyl, or synthetic stucco for a permanent finish.

  3. Oriented strand board (OSB), which accepts the nails of siding or brick wall ties is also available.

Warranty

ThermaSAVE Buildings are guaranteed for 15 years against delamination or any other failure due to defects in workmanship in the manufacturing of the panels.
